Identificamos los dos polinomios (dividendo y divisor) ordenados según las potencias decrecientes de "x"

Dividimos el primer monomio del dividendo entre el primer monomio del divisor.

Multiplicamos el cociente obtenido por el divisor

Restamos el producto obtenido del dividendo. Ello equivale a sumar el opuesto.

Dividimos el monomio resultante de la resta del dividendo, con el primer monomio del divisor, el proceso continúa hasta que obtenemos un residuo de grado menor que el grado del divisor.

Multiplicamos el cociente obtenido por el primer divisor

Restamos el producto obtenido del dividendo. Ello equivale a restar el opuesto.
