هو ميل الأجسام إلى الحفاظ على حالتها من السكون أو الحركة المنتظمة في خط مستقيم ما لم تؤثر عليها قوة خارجية تغير من حالتها.

هي أي مؤثر خارجي يغير من حالة حركة الجسم، سواء بتسريعه أو إيقافه أو تغيير اتجاهه، وتقاس بوحدة النيوتن.

هو معدل تغير سرعة الجسم بالنسبة للزمن، ويحدث نتيجة تأثير قوة عليه، ويقاس بوحدة متر لكل ثانية مربعة (م/ث²).

هو القوة التي تؤثر بها الأجسام على بعضها، حيث يكون لكل فعل رد فعل مساوٍ له في المقدار ومعاكس له في الاتجاه، وفقًا لقانون نيوتن الثالث.
