Avete mai sentito l'espressione " fare il portoghese " ? Significa " entrare gratis ad uno spettacolo o ad una partita evitando di pagare il biglietto " . Però questo non significa che gli italiani che i portoghesi tutti degli scrocconi e non pagare per niente . Pare infatti che la frase al 1513 , quando il Re del Portogallo in visita a Papa Leone X , gli ha portato regali molto preziosi . Il Papa allora , per ricambiare , ha lasciato entrare tutti i portoghesi al seguito del Re in tutti i locali pubblici senza pagare . Però non tutti sono d'accordo con questa spiegazione . Altri ritengono che la frase nel XVIII secolo , quando si dice che l'ambasciata del Portogallo a Roma , per festeggiare un avvenimento , una recita al Teatro Argentina . La festa era gratis per i portoghesi e bastava presentarsi come " portoghesi " per entrare senza pagare . Da quel giorno " fare il portoghese " significa non .
