Fill in the Blanks HumourOnline version Fill the blanks by Alyona M 1 burst out laughing laugh off raise a smile laughed our heads off no laughing matter Lately , my friend Jack has been trying hard to raise a little humour in our group . Knowing Jack , it's not surprising that he often aims to with his jokes , even if they don't always hit the mark . Last weekend , he attempted another one of his eccentric jokes and , as expected , everyone was ready to . However , this time none of us could actually laugh as hard as usual since his joke was about a recent event that was clearly . The odd thing was that Jack seemed oblivious to the fact that the joke was a bit inappropriate . Tom , my other friend , even had to the awkwardness , trying not to laugh at Jack's face for being so clueless . It was certainly not the first time Jack had misjudged the timing or the content of his humour . Still , in our group , there's always an understanding . We know Jack means well , and even if we don't always see eye to eye with his humour , he somehow manages to eventually make jokes in his own unique way . Later , over an ice cream , we all remembering some of his previous blunders and ridiculously funny stories . But I also noticed that Jack seemed a bit more thoughtful this time . Maybe next time , he'll pay closer attention to what might be acceptable before sharing his jokes . Until then , we're all braced for whatever humour adventure Jack will take us on next .
