Explanation

This video lesson will help you for our next lesson which is Lesson 5: Expanded Definition. This will help you when you write your research paper.

EXPANDED DEFINITION is used to define technical terms with a very detailed explanation, sometimes, with the use of examples and visuals. Expanded definitions are usually found in academic texts (Gonzales, et al., 2017). It also explains what the word means to the writer and may allow a reader to see the word differently.

PAPER is compared to TISSUE because they are both made from cellulose.

SIGNAL WORDS used for Compare and Contrast: is similar to, on the other hand, however, in addition, both, unlike, similarly, on the contrary

Both answers are correct. By expanding a definition using Etymology, you give the origin of the word.

If you did not type any answer, it means you did not learn anything in this lesson.
