Valerio ? s blog

I haven ? t posted a for the last or so because I ? ve far too . I ? m hoping go on a gap year trip to Thailand and Southeast Asia in October , so when school ended in June , I decided get a summer job . I a job as a receptionist at a hotel ? The Seaview ? and I ? ve there nearly every day since the beginning of July .

I ? ve really working there . The staff is very friendly , and we all help each other . I ? t worked as a receptionist before , so there was a lot to learn . Fortunately , one of the other receptionists , Salma , has been there for two years , so she ? s been able to show me how everything works and teach me how do things . I also get on really well with the manager and she ? s very flexible . She let me leave early last Saturday so I could go to my best friend ? s birthday , for example .

If there ? s one thing about the job I ? t like so much , it ? s the hours . One week I have to start work at six o ? clock in the and work until two o ? clock in the . And then the following week , I have to work from two o ? clock in the afternoon until ten o ? clock in the evening . I just can ? t get used to up so early one week and then working so late the week after . It ? s hard to have a social life outside work when your working hours change week .
