Los niños deben ser inscritos al nacer y recibir un nombre que el gobierno reconozca oficialmente.

Las familias y los tutores deben pensar siempre en lo que sea mejor para el niño, y los gobiernos deben ayudarles.

La educación de los niños debe ayudarles a alcanzar el pleno desarrollo de su personalidad, sus talentos y capacidades.

El gobierno debe tomar medidas para proteger a los niños de la explotación sexual (impedir que se aprovechen de ellos)

Cuando las leyes de un país protejan los derechos de los niños mejor que esta Convención, deben aplicarse esas leyes.
