Tipografías Serif y Sans Serif

Las tipografías son un elemento fundamental en el diseño gráfico y editorial , ya que influyen directamente en la , el tono y la estética de un texto . Dos de las categorías tipográficas más comunes y contrastantes son las tipografías y serif .

Las tipografías serif se caracterizan por tener pequeños remates o líneas decorativas al final de los trazos de las letras . Estas , que nacieron en la época romana , ayudan a guiar la lectura de manera fluida en textos largos . Por ello , este tipo de tipografía es comúnmente utilizado en libros , y revistas impresas .

Algunos ejemplos conocidos de tipografías serif son Times New Roman , y Garamond . Estas fuentes suelen transmitir una sensación de formalidad , elegancia y tradición .

Por otro lado , las tipografías sans serif ( del francés sans , que significa " sin " ) de estos remates . Son tipografías de líneas más limpias y modernas , lo que facilita su lectura en pantallas digitales , especialmente en dispositivos móviles y sitios .

Entre los ejemplos más populares de tipografías sans serif se encuentran Arial , Helvetica , Futura y . Este tipo de letra comunica una imagen más contemporánea , minimalista y funcional .
