El cantar de gesta es un tipo de narración en verso que relata las de un o en un contexto de guerra o conflicto . Estas historias eran recitadas por en la Edad y tenían la función de exaltar como el honor y la fidelidad . Una característica distintiva es el uso del verso , lo que facilitaba su memorización y recitación . Además , los cantares de gesta suelen presentar una visión de los acontecimientos , favoreciendo la imagen del héroe y de su causa .
