Electronic Waste Report
According to the data presented , half devices discarded every year are smartphones . In fact , of the phones analysed in the pie chart are made by Apple , and only a small percentage use USB - C . Approximately 40 of these devices are recycled .

The bar shows that while some countries have managed to increase their recycling rates , others remain far behind . On average , only 40% global electronic waste is recycled properly .

This low percentage results in amounts of waste ending up in landfills or being incinerated , which has a severe environmental impact .

To address this issue , manufacturers and governments must take urgent action to reduce this figure . Transitioning to standardized chargers , such as USB - C , could / substantially / reduce waste generation over time .

The venn on the final slide compares the different disposal methods and shows that a considerable of waste is still not properly managed .

If no further action is taken , the line suggests that e - waste will continue to rise dramatically in the coming years .
