About this activity

Diviértete emparejando compuesto con su tipo de enlaces mediante su electronegatividad, con este juego podrás dominar e identificar los tiempos de enlaces de diferentes compuestos.

Como saber qué tipo de enlaces es el compuesto mediante su electronegatividad.

Primero que nada ¿Qué es la electronegatividad? , la electronegatividad es la capacidad de un átomo para atraer electrones hacia sí mismo cuando se combina con otro átomo en un enlace químico. A mayor electronegatividad, mayor capacidad de atracción.

Ahora para determinar que tipo de enlaces es cada compuesto se tiene que encontrar la diferencia de electronegatividad, la cual se obtienen al restar la electronegatividad de cada elemento:

Diferencia entre cero y 0.4 = enlace covalente no polar
Diferencia mayor a 0.5 y menor a 1.6 = enlace covalente polar
Diferencia entre a 1.7 y 3.3 = iónico

Ejemplo:

Cloruro de potasio (KCl): El potasio (K) tiene una electronegatividad de 0.82 y el cloro (Cl) tiene una electronegatividad de 3.16. Forma un enlace iónico.

¿Porque?

Cloro (Cl) 2.16 - 0.82 potasio(k)= 2.16

La cual su diferencias es mayos a 1.7 lo que lo hace un enlace iónico
