About this activity

Objective: Complete the story by dragging the correct verb forms into the blanks. You will choose between the Past Simple and Present Perfect tenses.

How to Play:

Read each sentence in the story carefully, paying close attention to the context and any time expressions.
Next to the story, you will see a list of verb forms. These are the possible answers for the blanks.
Drag the verb form that correctly completes each blank in the sentence.
Decide if the sentence requires the Past Simple (for actions completed at a specific point in the past) or the Present Perfect (for experiences up to now, actions continuing from the past, or past actions with a connection to the present).

Liam had been feeling a bit lost lately . He a second - year college student , and while his classes were interesting , he hadn't found that one thing that truly excited him yet . He had tried a few different clubs ? the debate team ( too intense ! ) , the photography club ( he took one blurry picture and up ) , and even the early - morning running group ( that lasted exactly two days ) .

One afternoon , while procrastinating on a history essay , Liam stumbled upon an old video about sustainable living . He had never thought much about environmental issues before , but something in the video his attention . The speaker about innovative solutions and passionate young people making a difference .




" Wow , " he muttered to himself . " I always interested in how things work , but I it to global problems . "

He the rest of the day researching , watching more videos . He a local community garden that had been struggling to get volunteers . They needed people to help with irrigation , compost , and even building a small solar - powered shed .
