Maya packed her hiking boots early in the morning she was excited to explore different landforms . Her backpack was heavy it had all the supplies she needed for the adventure .
She started her journey at the base of a tall mountain . The mountain looked steep but she began climbing anyway she wanted to reach the peak before sunset .
On her way up , Maya discovered a beautiful valley below . The valley was green it had a river running through it . The river created the fertile soil it brought nutrients from the mountains .
Maya continued climbing she got tired quickly because the mountain air was thin . She took many breaks to catch her breath she needed to rest .
Near the top , she found an interesting rock formation . The rocks were smooth the wind had been blowing over them for thousands of years weather changes the shape of landforms over time .
At the summit , Maya could see for miles . She spotted a desert in the distance she also saw rolling hills . The hills were covered with trees the desert had no trees it received very little rainfall .
Maya felt proud of her accomplishment she had learned so much about landforms . She started her journey back down the sun was beginning to set she needed to return safely .
