About this activity

Eropa memburu rempah-rempah "Mutiara dari Timur" di Nusantara yang harganya lebih mahal dari emas! Mereka bersaing sengit, lalu Belanda mendirikan VOC kongsi dagang serakah berkedok perusahaan, tapi punya tentara dan hak hukum sendiri. VOC memonopoli rempah dengan membakar kebun rakyat dan mengadu domba kerajaan lokal, hingga akhirnya bangkrut karena korupsi. Pemerintah Belanda lalu mengambil alih, memberlakukan Tanam Paksa yang menyengsarakan rakyat desa kelaparan karena dipaksa menanam kopi/tebu untuk dijual ke Eropa. Selama ratusan tahun, kekayaan Nusantara dirampok demi kejayaan negeri jauh.
