عندما يبدأ الاسم بحرف قمري، يُنطق 'ال' كما هو ولا يُدغَم الحرف الأول.

التمييز بين الشمسية والقمرية يعتمد على الحرف الأول بعد 'ال' وليس على معنى الكلمة.

هناك 14 حرفاً شمسيًا و14 حرفاً قمريًا في الحروف العربية.

التمييز لا يعتمد على الحرف الأول، بل يعتمد على طول الكلمة.

من أمثلة حروف الشمس: ش، س، ت، ل.

يوجد 13 حرفاً شمسيًا و15 حرفًا قمريًا.

عندما يبدأ اسم بحرف شمسي، تُسقط 'ال' وتُدغَم الحرف الأول من الكلمة.

الحروف القمرية هي التي تُدغم فيها اللام عند إضافة 'ال'.
