I grew up in a small town in the 1990s , and life was very different from today . We ? t have smartphones , social media , or even fast internet . People used to write to stay in touch with friends or call them on the house . I used to spend hours waiting for my favorite songs to play on the radio , so I could them on a cassette tape . Entertainment was different too . My friends and I used to go almost every day after school . We to play soccer in the park , our bikes , or just walk around talking . We didn ? t use to spend hours because we had fewer distractions . On weekends , my family and I used to rent movies on from the local video store . It feels funny now , but back then it was exciting to a movie together . School life also had its differences . We used to go to the to find information for our homework . We didn ? t use to Google everything . Teachers used to be stricter , and we used to respect them more , or at we were afraid of them ! Of course , not everything was better . Communication was , and it wasn ? t easy to meet people from other . But in many ways , life used to feel simpler and less . Sometimes I miss that . Technology has given us amazing , but I still remember the small joys we used to have .
