Borobudur Temple is a historical site in Indonesia . It is located in Magelang , Central Java . The temple is considered one of the Buddhist monuments in the world . Built in the 9th century , Borobudur has nine platforms and a dome at the top . It is decorated with thousands of relief panels and Buddha . Visitors from around the world come to see this and to the sunrise from the top of the temple . Borobudur is not only a place but also a symbol of Indonesia ? s heritage .
