Es el mensaje central que el autor quiere transmitir en un párrafo o texto. Resume lo más importante y no puede eliminarse sin que el texto pierda sentido.

Son los detalles, ejemplos, explicaciones o argumentos que complementan, desarrollan o justifican la idea principal.

1. Localizar la oración que concentra el mensaje esencial (idea principal). 2. Distinguir las oraciones que explican o apoyan esa idea (ideas secundarias).

• Aclaran, amplían o apoyan la idea principal. • Pueden incluir definiciones, ejemplos, causas, consecuencias o descripciones. • Responden a la pregunta ¿Qué dice el texto sobre el tema?

Es aquella que el texto dice de manera directa y clara. No requiere interpretaciones; el lector solo debe leer y comprender lo escrito.
