When World War 2 ended in , the occupation of Korea came to an end and Koreans began to see the return of their own traditions . As exiled masters returned to the country , several schools , or , of Do were formed . Moo Duk Kwan ( House of ) was one such school . Depending on whose history you choose to believe , there were between and schools forming at this time . Many of the schools eventually joined together , going on to form modern Tae Kwon Do , but Master Hwang Kee chose to remain independent and take Tang Soo Do worldwide .
