Being a digital citizen means taking care of our digital footprint. Understanding that this footprint is public and permanent.

Both at the police level and internally and externally, there are professionals specialized in identifying people who use these platforms anonymously or with fake profiles.

Yes, in Costa Rica, any evidence from my fingerprint can be used as part of judicial investigations. This may mean that my phones, tablets, computers, etc. could be confiscated and that anything found on them could be used in trials or lawsuits against me.

*The student is encouraged to file a report with the OIJ, Costa Rica’s specialized police. *An investigation is opened according to the code of conduct, and depending on the case, specialized technological support is requested from internal or external experts to identify the aggressors.

*Talk to a peer, RA, WA, or CE member and ask for help on how to approach the situation without mentioning names. *Talk confidentially with any adult to seek advice. *Request an appointment with a Wellness Counsellor.
