About this activity

Arrange the organisms from producer to apex predator.

Baird's Tapir: This herbivore dines on leaves, grasses, and fruits found in its rainforest and woodland habitats.

Komodo Dragon: These predatory lizards can kill animals much larger than themselves with a venomous bite and have a diet that includes smaller prey species.

African Painted Dog: These agile hunters work in packs to take down a variety of prey.

Jaguar: As the apex predator of the Americas, the jaguar sits at the top of its food chain. It hunts and eats other carnivores and herbivores.

Fig trees: Different species of fig trees are grown for their leaves, bark, and fruit, which are eaten by orangutans, elephants, and other animals.
