Se usa para sumar conceptos , por ejemplo paella y ensalada ; se emplea 'o' para presentar opciones , como té o café ; y se utiliza 'u' cuando la siguiente palabra empieza por o o ho , para evitar cacofonía , como niño humilde o hermana mayor . Practicar estas uniones ayuda a evitar frases enredadas , mejora la fluidez al hablar y escribir , y permite expresar contraste ligero sin cambiar el sentido principal .
