عندما يأتي ساكن بداخلة الكلمة مع ساكن في بداية الكلمة التالية، لا يحدث أي تغيير صوتي في القراءة.

يُدرَس هذا القاعدة في علم التجويد أثناء قراءة القرآن الكريم.

هذه القاعدة مشترطة بأن يكون الحرف الأول من الكلمة التالية متحركاً دائماً بالضمة فقط.

القاعدة مرتبطة فقط بالصوت وليس بالنطق والتجويد عند القراءة.

عندما تتقابل ساكنة مع ساكنة في بداية الكلمة التالية، يمكن أن يحدث إدغام تلقائي.

التقاء الساكنين يحدث داخل نفس الكلمة فقط ولا يخرج إلى الكلمة التالية.

التقاء الساكنين يعالج بتشديد الحروف بشكل عشوائي دون قواعد واضحة.
