Un número mixto representa una cantidad entera y una fracción propia, por ejemplo 3 y 1/4.

El valor de 2 3/8 es mayor que 2.

Al sumar números mixtos, se puede convertir todo a fracciones impropias para facilitar la operación.

1 1/2 y 2 2/3 al sumarlos dan 3 1/6.

5 0/7 se escribe como 5/7.

Para convertir 3 2/5 a fracción impropia se multiplica 3 por 5 y se suma 2, obteniendo 17/5.
