El video explica por qué hace más frío en las montañas a pesar de estar más cerca del Sol. La razón no es la distancia, sino la cantidad de aire que actúa como una cobija alrededor de la Tierra. A nivel del mar, el aire es más denso y retiene mejor el calor; en cambio, al subir, la “cobija” de aire se vuelve más delgada y deja escapar el calor rápidamente. Por eso la temperatura disminuye con la altitud. Este principio también influye en los climas, los cultivos y los ecosistemas que pueden existir a diferentes alturas.
