El ensayo argumentativo tiene como propósito convencer al lector mediante razones , argumentos y evidencias que apoyan la postura del autor .
Por otro lado , el ensayo busca explicar un tema de manera clara y objetiva , sin intentar persuadir .

Cuando se analiza o evalúa una obra , una idea o un acontecimiento , se utiliza el ensayo , mientras que el ensayo se caracteriza por su estilo creativo , libre y con un tono más artístico y personal .

El ensayo emplea un lenguaje formal y se basa en datos reales para informar o explicar fenómenos relacionados con la ciencia .
En cambio , el ensayo profundiza en cuestiones abstractas como la moral , la verdad , el conocimiento o la existencia .

Si el autor describe detalladamente un objeto , lugar , persona o idea , se trata de un ensayo .
Cuando se utiliza una historia o narración para abordar un tema , estamos frente a un ensayo .
Finalmente , el ensayo se basa en pensamientos , vivencias y reflexiones personales del autor sobre un tema .
