In everyday English , the subject is often followed by the form 'is' and a past participle , as in 'The letter daily' or 'Newspapers by many people . ' When we describe routines , the agent can be omitted , and the sentence remains clear . Writers sometimes vary the structure to avoid repetition , but the passive form remains easy to understand in formal instructions and reports .

It is a busy Monday morning at Happy David Primary School . Every day , the school clean . The floors and the windows before the first bell rings .

Today , there is a small problem . A mystery lunchbox is sitting alone on the principal ? s desk . It is clearly important because a search for its owner right away ! Notes about the missing lunch to every classroom door .

The principal says , " This delicious - looking sandwich cannot go uneaten ! The correct owner must come forward . " She explains that all food at the school and should never be abandoned .
