Tom becomes much more on his band , the DogZombies , than on schoolwork . He and Derek start spending more time imagining what their band could look and like . They talk about writing songs , designing posters , and practising together . Tom gets about creating band logos and doodles , and he fills his notebook with ideas . Even the band is not very good yet , Tom believes the DogZombies will eventually become amazing .

, Tom ? s excitement about the band makes it even for him to concentrate in school . He continues to get , especially when Marcus brags about his own or when Tom thinks about a new drawing he wants to make . As a , Tom still struggles with Mr . Fullerman ? s Class Chart , and his behaviour does not improve much .

At home , Tom deals with the usual problems with Delia , who becomes annoyed whenever Tom leaves a or makes noise while practising with Derek . Tom tries to explain that the band is important , but Delia isn ? t . Tom ? s parents also remind him to be more responsible with homework , but he often ends up focusing on DogZombies ideas .

During this section , Tom ? s class also prepares for upcoming school activities , which adds more on him to behave properly and finish his work . Tom tries to keep up and hopes he won ? t fall behind again , but he continues to be more interested in the band than in lessons . everything , Tom stays and convinced that the DogZombies are heading toward something brilliant .
