About this activity

La conquista española del Tahuantinsuyo en el norte fue un proceso histórico que ocurrió durante el siglo XVI y que afectó a los territorios del actual Ecuador. Este proceso no se dio únicamente por la fuerza militar, sino también por los conflictos internos del Imperio inca, como la guerra civil entre Atahualpa y Huáscar, y por las alianzas entre los españoles y algunos pueblos indígenas. Durante este período se produjeron enfrentamientos, destacándose la resistencia liderada por Rumiñahui, hasta la fundación de la ciudad de San Francisco de Quito en 1534, lo que consolidó el dominio español en la región.
