Soil is very important for farming and for the environment . It helps to grow by giving them minerals and . There are different types of soil . Some soil has more , which makes it heavy and holds more . Other soil has more , which makes it light and dry .

Good soil has both mineral parts and matter . Organic matter comes from dead plants and animals . It gives the soil more nutrients .

Farmers must take care of the soil . If the soil is not healthy , plants cannot well . Also , soil can be lost because of , which is when wind or water carries it away . Farmers can protect soil by planting grass , covering the ground , and helping the stay strong .
