Las semiesferas son comunes en la vida diaria: tazones, cascos y algunas lámparas tienen esta forma. La característica principal es que tienen una superficie curva y una base circular.

Una esfera es un cuerpo geométrico sin caras planas. Todos sus puntos están a la misma distancia del centro, característica que la diferencia de otras figuras tridimensionales.

Para realizar cálculos con esferas y semiesferas es necesario identificar el radio. El radio es la distancia del centro a cualquier punto de la superficie. Si este dato cambia, el volumen también cambia de forma significativa.
