La corriente galvánica es una corriente continua, de intensidad constante y polaridad fija, utilizada en fisioterapia con fines terapéuticos.

Su flujo va del ánodo (-) al cátodo (+) y produce efectos fisiológicos aprovechables clínicamente, aunque hoy se use menos que otras corrientes.

Electroforesis: los iones emigran a través del disolvente que los sustenta hacia la fuerza eléctrica que los atrae de polaridad distinta

Cátodo= succiona electrones de la disolición por defecto en el electrodo

Anódo= depósita electrones en la disolución por exceso en el electrodo.
