La Luna es el único y más cercano satélite natural de la Tierra, situado a una distancia media de aproximadamente 384,400 km. Tiene un diámetro de 3,476 km y tarda 27.32 días en completar su órbita y rotación (rotación sincrónica), lo que provoca que siempre muestre la misma cara.
