ضرب ثابت غير صفري في كثير الحدود يغير درجة كثير الحدود.

درجة الناتج من ضرب كثيرتي الحدود تساوي الفرق بين درجاتهما.

عند ضرب (x+1)(x+1) تكون النتيجة مع وجود حد من الدرجة 3.

ضرب ثابت في كثير الحدود يحافظ على درجة كثير الحدود إذا كان الثابت غير صفري.

إذا ضربنا (ax^2+bx+c) في نفسه لا ينتج عنه حد من الدرجة 4.
