La letra 'x' nunca se usa en palabras de origen latino; solo aparece en nombres propios.

Se escribe siempre 'z' cuando el sonido es /s/ en todas las palabras españolas.

La 'z' se escribe ante cualquier vocal, incluida la 'o', para representar el sonido /θ/.
