La Comisión Nacional de Seguros y Fianzas (CNSF) regula a las aseguradoras en México.

En México, los contratos de seguro se rigen por la Ley de Contrato de Seguro y la Ley de Instituciones de Seguros y Fianzas.

El tomador debe pagar la prima para que el seguro entre en vigor.

Los siniestros deben pagarse sin investigar la responsabilidad de terceros.

La Ley de Contrato de Seguro exige una vigencia mínima de 10 años para todas las pólizas.

El tomador no tiene derecho a recibir información veraz sobre exclusiones y límites.

El consentimiento de ambas partes es necesario para constituir un contrato de seguro.
