Sweetie joins the family after Greg ? s dad decides to get a dog , but Greg never feels happy about the decision . of seeing the dog as a fun pet , Greg often Sweetie as a problem that makes his summer even worse .

Sweetie behaves in ways that Greg : she chews objects , barks , makes messes , and often chaos around the house . Greg feels that the dog receives too much attention , especially from his mom , who Sweetie almost like a baby . This makes Greg jealous and .

Because of this , Greg does not try to build a strong with Sweetie . Instead , he mostly complains about the dog and tries to avoid dealing with her .
