Las fichas de contenido deben combinar ideas ajenas citadas con comentarios personales para acercarse al borrador final.

El esquema de trabajo sirve para identificar partes y relaciones, y para orientar la recopilación de información.

El tema debe abarcar la mayor cantidad de temas posibles para enriquecer el estudio.

La lectura rápida inicial busca reconocer ideas principales y evaluar la calidad del material.

Es obligatorio subrayar ideas en la primera lectura para no olvidar.

Del tema delimitado se debe escoger un aspecto concreto para estudiarlo a fondo y evitar dispersión.

La organización definitiva del fichero se hace sin numerar fichas.

La bibliografía debe ficharse solo cuando se completa el trabajo final.

Después de obtener datos básicos, se registran en fichas bibliográficas o hemerográficas para localizarlos rápidamente.
