General grammar rules to use BE GOING TO and PRESENT PROGRESSIVE for future plans.

by Miss Mafer Cardona
1

When we use the VERB TO BE, we must conjugate the verb to the subject or tense we're referring to.

2

The three forms of the verb TO BE in past are: am, is and are.

3

In the present progressive we use the GERUND form of the verb.

4

The structure for "be going to" is: BE + GOING TO + GERUND. (Ex. I'm going to reading a book this semester).

5

We can use the PRESENT CONTINUOUS and the PRESENT PERFECT to talk about future plans.

6

In the structure for BE GOING TO, the verb that follows "going to" has to be in BASE FORM.
