El perímetro es la línea que delimita la figura.

Una figura puede estimarse en áreas usando retículas de cuadrados.

Para comparar áreas se pueden usar cuadrículas para contar cuadrados de la retícula.

Si dos figuras tienen el mismo perímetro, deben tener la misma área.

La superficie de una figura es lo mismo que su contorno.

Un cuadrado de 1 cm por 1 cm tiene área 1 cm² y perímetro 3 cm.

El contorno de una figura es la línea que rodea la figura.
