Police in Italy say that several famous paintings were stolen from a near the city of Parma . The robbery took place on 22 at the Magnani Rocca Foundation villa . Four men wearing masks entered the building and stole three valuable of art . These included Les Poissons by Renoir , Still Life with Cherries by Cézanne , and Odalisque on the Terrace by Matisse . According to reports , the thieves spent only about three inside the museum . They were very and seemed well prepared . However , the museum ? s alarm went off during the robbery . This forced them to leave earlier than planned and stopped them from stealing more . The men broke in through the main entrance of the Villa dei Capolavori , which is in the countryside near Parma . They went upstairs to the first floor and took the paintings from a room known as the French Room . After taking the artworks , they by climbing over a fence . The foundation later said the group appeared organised and likely planned the crime carefully . They believe the intended to take more pieces but were interrupted by the alarm and the quick from authorities . The total value of the stolen paintings is estimated at around ? 9 .
