El Artículo 92 establece que el Estado supervisará, orientará y regulará la educación pública y privada en Panamá.

Los planes de estudio no están alineados con los fines constitucionales.

La finalidad de la educación conforme a la Constitución es el desarrollo pleno de la personalidad y el fortalecimiento de los derechos humanos.

La Constitución Panameña dedica el Capítulo 5 a la educación y menciona artículos 87, 88, 89 y 92.

La educación es obligatoria en sus primeras etapas y gratuita en las escuelas oficiales, desde primaria hasta universitaria.

En Panamá, la enseñanza en centros oficiales es de pago en todos los niveles.
