Medical supplies are stuck in , and this is causing serious problems for clinics around the world . In Yemen , hospitals are already very busy many children suffer malnutrition , and diseases like cholera , measles , and polio are spreading . Doctors more children are coming to hospitals , and there are not beds for everyone . Aid groups have prepared more than 100 tons of special food to help sick children , but these supplies are stuck at Jebel Ali Port in Dubai . This port is very important for medical and aid supplies to many countries . Because of the war in Iran , ships cannot move freely the Strait of Hormuz , so deliveries are delayed . Many aid groups , like Doctors Without , are worried that the food and medicine will not arrive on time . Other say shipments to places like East Africa are also blocked , and supplies cannot reach countries such Sudan and Ethiopia , where people need help .

This situation is dangerous for countries that depend on imported medical supplies . In Sudan , for , there are no local factories to produce medicine , so all supplies must come from other countries . Aid groups there have items like IV fluids , malaria tests , and ready , but they cannot bring them into the country . Clinics only have enough supplies to a short time , and doctors are worried they will soon run out . Health workers must decide gets treatment first because there is not enough for everyone . In the case , patients with simple illnesses like or infections may not get medicine at all . At the same time , are rising . Fuel shortages have made transport more , and sending supplies by now costs much more than before . Insurance prices have also increased . All of these problems together are making it very for aid groups to people , especially as many countries are already facing food shortages and difficulties .
