La letrilla es una composición poética breve, satírica o burlesca, con estribillo que se repite en cada estrofa.

El estribillo refuerza el mensaje o la burla al repetirse.

La letrilla carece de vínculo con la música o el canto y es puramente textual.

Suele usar versos de arte menor, especialmente octosílabos o hexasílabos.
