موسم الفورميلا ون يتكون من عدة جولات عالمية وتُمنح النقاط للمراكز العشرة الأولى في كل سباق.

جميع السباقات تُقام في مدينة واحدة طوال الموسم.

الفورميلا ون بطولة لسباقات سيارات تقام على حلبات معتمدة دولياً من FIA.

منذ 2014 لم تستخدم أي محركات هجينة أو تيربو في الفورميلا ون.

يُسمح للسائق بالقيادة بدون خوذة أثناء السباق.

يتنافس في الفورميلا ون سائقون من فرق مختلفة حول العالم وتُختتم البطولة بتتويج البطل العام.

لا يوجد نظام نقاط والفائز فقط يحصد اللقب دون توزيع نقاط.

السباقات تقام فقط في قارة أوروبا ولا تُقام في غيرها.

منذ عام 2014 تستخدم محركات من فئة V6 تيربو هجينة في السباقات.

النظام النقاطي القياسي يبدأ بالمركز الأول 25 نقطة، الثاني 18 نقطة، الثالث 15 نقطة.
