Participle II ( Past Participle ) for regular verbs is formed by adding - to the base form . For irregular verbs , it is the form ( V3 ) .

Participle I is used to describe what someone or something doing . Example : a baby .

Participle II is used to describe what has been to someone or something . Example : a window .

The difference between Participle I and Participle II : Participle I has an meaning , Participle II has a meaning .

Participle I can be used to form Continuous tenses : am / is / are + .

Participle II can be used to form Perfect tenses : have / has + and Passive voice : be + .

Participles can be used as adjectives to describe or to make participial phrases .
