L’artèria pulmonar porta sang oxigenada als pulmons.

La vàlvula tricúspide s’anomena també bicúspide o mitral.

Està dividit en quatre cavitats: dues aurícules i dos ventricles.

La sang circula pel cos sense passar mai pels capil·lars.

L’artèria aorta porta sang amb oxigen cap a tot l’organisme i l’artèria pulmonar porta sang cap als pulmons.

Les vàlvules entre les aurícules i els ventricles són la tricúspide (dreta) i la bicúspide o mitral (esquerra).

El circuit menor o pulmonar només implica el ventricle esquerre i l’artèria aorta, i no els pulmons.

El circuit major o de tot el cos té el flux des del ventricle esquerre per l’aorta, distribuint la sang als òrgans i tornant per les venes i la vena cava a l’aurícula dreta.
