Tayrona National Park is an incredible destination , ( 1 ) it offers a unique combination of dense jungle and pristine beaches . If you decide to visit this natural paradise , ( 2 ) you must bring the right gear , including walking boots and waterproof clothes . ( 3 ) is very important to pack a money belt so you can keep your passport and cash safe and dry . However , the trails can be extremely muddy , ( 4 ) you should always be careful where you step . ( 5 ) , a good backpack is essential because you will be walking for several hours before you reach the ocean .

Getting to the park's main beaches requires some planning and energy , ( 6 ) the reward is definitely worth it . ( 7 ) , you should take a boat from Taganga to Cabo San Juan del Guía to save time . ( 8 ) , you can relax on the white sand beaches and enjoy a fresh coconut . Last year , when we were hiking back to the entrance , a heavy tropical rain shower caught us by surprise . We were completely soaked , ( 9 ) the experience taught us to always carry our umbrella or a lightweight poncho in our backpack . ( 10 ) , you must buy souvenirs at the visitor center to remember your experience .
