Tras la muerte de ( 1 . 134 ) los reinos de Pamplona y Aragón se separaron . se quedó con la Ribera Tudelana , pero el resto de tierras conquistadas a los musulmanes permanecieron con Aragón . De este modo , Pamplona dejaba de tener frontera con el y su " reconquista " se daba por concluida .
La presencia de los vecinos poderosos y en proceso de expansión territorial ( y ) suponían un riesgo para la viabilidad del pequeño Reino de Pamplona . Se hacia imprescindible la colaboración de todos los grupos sociales , tanto de los como de los mas , entorno al rey , quien debía convencerles de que formaban parte de un mismo país cuyo soberano gobernaba para todos .
El símbolo de este cambio fue del reino , que paso a denominarse " " durante el reinado de ( 1 . 150 - 1 . 194 ) . Los " " eran los campesinos . Al utilizar este nombre , el rey quería demostrar su interés por todos los habitantes del reino .
