China is one of the world's oldest societies . This means Chinese culture goes back of years . In ancient ( really old ) China , the land was ruled by kings called . When many emperors came from the same family , it was called a dynasty . This was a time of much learning and innovation .

Many inventions came about in Ancient China . Before the Chinese invented money , everyone only had coins . The Chinese also invented , which came to be used in weapons as well as fireworks . We can keep the cavities away by using a , which was also invented by the Chinese .

China has changed so much since those times . There is no longer an emperor or dynasties . Instead , China is ruled by the Chinese Party . They run an government . Chinese citizens can vote , but only for the Communist Party , so it's not a true free election . The government keeps tight restrictions on rights in China . People can be for speaking out against the government . The government even controls the - the people do not legally have access to Facebook , Instagram , SnapChat or Google .

Despite these problems , the remains friendly with China . We do a lot of business with China . China is a developing country , so many people there work in for low wages . This allows for cheap products to be shipped to the United States and sold in value stores like and Dollar General . There are positives and negatives to the US - China relationship , but we will continue working together into the future .
